COMING EVENTS
Join us at our February 20th meeting, for a discussion that looks back at how our present relationship with the United States, and the attitudes of both countries, compare with the 1812 and subsequent eras, leading to the contemporary situation. See Events page.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
We are pleased to advise we have located and posted the ‘Searchable Database for Perth Settlement Lands’, which was originally on the Lanark County website for our 200th Anniversary, and subsequently lost. This is a major tool for researchers of family history in the six early area townships. See it on the Books, Maps & Videos Page

THANK-YOU TO OUR 200TH
ANNIVERSARY PARTNERS

Welcome to the Perth & District Historical Society website. Our society is a non-profit, volunteer organisation dedicated to documenting and sharing the rich history of this area of Lanark County in eastern Ontario. The society provides a forum for the presentation and discussion of our history through monthly meetings and other events.

The objective of this website is to present, for the public, an on-line archive, and free access, to materials developed from our events and the efforts of our volunteers and supporters. The website aims to document a range of information on the long and interesting history, from the earliest days of the First Nations’ arrival to the area, now described as Perth and the Townships of Tay Valley and Drummond/North Elmsley – known earlier as Bathurst, Burgess, South Sherbrooke, Drummond and North Elmsley Townships
